Asian Languages and Literatures at Pomona College

         Students at Pomona College are eligible to apply for fellowships that support travel and study in East Asia for periods of up to one year.


American/Chinese Adventure Capital Program

         This program, funded by the Durfee Foundation, provides grants for travel to mainland China. Students, faculty and staff at the Claremont Colleges are eligible to apply for these awards, which are designed to promote an understanding of China through person-to-person contact during visits that may range from three weeks to a year in length. Applications are invited at regular intervals; grants are not available every year.

Freeman Foundation Asia Fellowship

         The Freeman Foundation Asia Fellowship is awarded to graduating seniors of The Claremont Colleges who have demonstrated the ability to research a topic and accordingly design a relevant proposal focused on the peoples, culture, history or economy of one or more Asian country. Successful proposals will deal with those aspects of the country which will enable the Freeman Fellow to gain a better understanding of the culture, customs, education or economy of the host country.
